Abstract

I analyse descriptively and theoretically the status of women entrepreneurs in India and how has increased government investment contributed to growth of women entrepreneurs and how can the women owned enterprises contribute towards development of the Indian economy.

This study is carried out with the specific objective to know about the effectiveness of

government schemes and programmes to promote women entrepreneurship in India and how can it help in boost the Indian economy. The present paper focuses on development of the economy by developing the women entrepreneurs of the country. The study combines both

qualitative descriptions (such as case studies, trends, and statistics) and theoretical concepts (like economic growth theories, gender studies, etc.) to provide a comprehensive view of the status of women entrepreneurs in India.
